Recent research works on Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) have been presented at the Navitec 2024 and ION GNSS 2024 conferences. The latter also dedicated a session to Advances in High Accuracy Positioning. Key studies highlighted the service's potential for high-precision applications outside Safety of Life (SoL) requirements, for mobile users in different types of environments.
Performance assessments emphasized the ability of HAS to achieve precise horizontal and vertical positioning under real-world conditions. The research demonstrated that the accuracy targets defined in the Service Definition Document (SDD) are achievable, though some convergence times still need optimization to meet the phase 2 goals.
